Citadel: Diana
VFX & Tech Design
Citadel was Amazon’s most ambitious series to date, following the stories of spy and counter-intelligence agencies operating across the globe. After our work on the US launch series, we partnered with Amazon’s Italian production to dive deeper into the technology of surveillance for the Manticore organization.

Citadel: Diana Tech Montage
This project was over a year of collaboration with Amazon’s Italian production company and sharing shots and assets with other vfx teams around the world. I produced the technology across the entire series for Citadel: Diana, putting together a team of 2D/3D designers and animators. Huge thanks to the VFX Supervisor, Giancarlo Derchie, for allowing our team the freedom to do some really creative things with the technology design.
Projection Table
We designed a light-based projection table that was the hub of Manticore’s data collection and surveillance efforts within their headquarters. Our team balanced the goals of readability within the scene while also being info-dense to show the sophisticated efforts of the Manticore organization.
Augmented Reality Contact Lens
The heroine of the show, Diana, wears an AR Contact Lens that allows her to communicate with other agents, identify targets, and displays critical information as she moves throughout the city. Our design team explored a lot of layouts because this was a critical storytelling element so it needed to clearly communicate the audience while still feeling realistically unobtrusive for the user. Below are some design explorations and the final result from the show.
Zani Laboratory UI
The family that runs the Manticore organization is the Zani family who runs an industrial technology and weapons manufacturing business. Their headquarters had a suite of next-generation technologies that our team got to imagine, from security features for their HQ to large scale digital interfaces in the laboratory.
